Choose Medicare Part C For The Additional Coverage
Falling
sick is as inevitable as feeling hungry. No one can stop it!
It is a natural process of how the
human body works. It is the way the body repairs itself. But, illness never
comes empty-handed. It brings with it a long list of medical bills that are
likely to empty an individual's pocket.
Health insurance is there to cover
the costs of such emergencies only. It is a protection offered to the insurer
during the time of crisis.
Medicare-
Medicare is one such health care
plan. It is a national insurance scheme by the government of The United States
that began in 1966 under the Social Security Administration and is now
administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services(CMS).
The eligibility for the same is a
citizen of The United States or someone living permanently there for at least
five years and is 65 years or above. It also covers younger people with
specific disabilities.
Medicare has four parts- A, B, C, and
D.
Coverage of Medicare Part C-
It is also known as the Medicare
Advantage plan and is a health plan provided by private companies approved by
CMS. Part C includes the basic services provided by Original Medicare (Part A
and B), i.e., inpatient hospital stays and outpatient care. Along with that, it
offers a bundle of other services not covered in the above parts as per
different schemes and at different premiums.
In order to have Medicare part C,
it is obligatory to enroll in both Part A and Part B and mandatory to regularly
pay a premium for Part B.
The additional coverage by advantage
plans include regular vision check-up, hearing aid, wellness and fitness
programs, etc. and sometimes cover Part D, i.e., prescription drug coverage as
well. There is no need to go for any Medigap or Medicare supplement.#
